size applied to text field?

Can you apply a 'size' to a text field? I know you can for a text area

so is this valid use of size?

Hi Charlie,

Yes that works, though xxl doesn't work, and just comes out the standard size. This has thrown me out before. All the others work - xs, s, m, l, xl
