Blocks and CKeditor

I have a template with perch:blocks and one of the options is a textarea which has ckeditor as "editor" and when you choose to add a new block the textarea shows up but unless you save ckeditor will not load up on the textarea.

I am pretty sure this isn't normal behavior? But then again, this is CKeditor ( a royal pain in the butt )

Any ideas?
