How to enable subpage creation permissions by default?

Hi There, currently running the latest version of perch (2.7.10)

I'm running into an issue where users with a non admin role are unable to create subpages on new content, including pages they have created themselves.

We have created an Editor role which has the following permissions:

  • can create subpages
  • can create new top level pages

I can use the roles > actions > Grant role permission: create new subpages of all current pages which successfully enables permissions to add subpages on existing content. However, if any user creates a new page the permission for the editor role to create a subpage for the new page is deselected by default. The user then has to go to the page options and enable the permission for this page for their role, which is frustrating.

Ideally this permission would be checked by default?

Does it make a difference where in the structure the page is created? e.g. top level vs more deeply nested?

no, occurs in both instances

I'll see if I can reproduce it.
