WebP support in Perch?

Hi,

Are there any plans to support webP in the near future?

I can see other posts asking for support for this format, but they were from last year. My understanding is the libraries used to provide webP were not up to scratch, is this still the case in 2018?

When testing pages using Lighthouse, webP support is always flagged.

No, the situation hasn't changed. When it's viable to support WebP we will. If you have the ability to install binaries on your server, it's really easy to get yourself up and running without support in Perch.
