Feature Request - Asset Global Setting

Hello,

Just had a thought it would be quite handy to have a global setting when working in development to be able to convert all asset links from root relative (/perch/resources/image.jpg) to the Live domain https://domain.com/perch/resources/image.jpg

When doing work on sites I use Runway back up to get the latest copy of the database, obviously I end up with lots of broken images can be difficult to make design changes.

What do you think?

When would you want the domain in there?

When working locally or even in staging I guess.

Perhaps when in the development mode setting?

Do you mean to reference assets on a remote (live) web server when you're working locally in dev?

Yeah that's what I meant because all content editing is done live all the assets are sat there.

So when working locally would be handy to have a setting that perhaps could be turned on or off to reference assets from the live server

I would normally use a remote bucket for that - then the problem never crops up.

As in use a CDN?

Not necessarily, but use remote storage, or define your live website location as remote storage.

(e.g. you can use S3 but you don't necessarily need CloudFront)

Ah yes, I forgot you did cloud storage with runway.

I'll take a look at it
