Set a page to be unpublished

I know you can do this on a region level but it would be very useful to be able to set the publish status of a page so that it can be worked on without being live, and therefore removed from any perch custom list filter.

What would happen when you visit an unpublished page? Should we delete it?

It should take you to a 404 I suppose.

Hmmm maybe an easier option for Runway then?

I've done something related. For various reasons, which I won't go into, the client needed to "unpublish" a page without deleting it from the database. I added a checkbox in the main content area region and in the page, I check for that at the top of the page, then do a redirect (you could do a 404).

I think there is a real good need for something like this, officially, in either version of Perch. The work arounds are okay but you run into problems with perch search and lesser so navigation.

The ability to show/hide 'published pages' and the ability to post date changes to to allow for some basic scheduling would be really useful here too :)

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread!

We'll give it some careful consideration.
