Collection inside a block template

Not sure if this is possible. I have some blocks and I would like to create a block that displays a collection. Ideally it would be nice to have the user select the collection, but I could also hard code the collection name in the block template.

What I specifically have is a gallery of images inside a collection (and it's associated template) that I'd like the user to be able to put in multiple places in the website, since I don't know exactly where it will go - I was hoping to use a block instead of coding the perch_collection in the pages template.
