Forum performance slowing?

I've noticed the forum slowing at times. Just before I wrote this post is a good example. The response on pages seems to be 10-15 seconds while all other grabaperch.com subdomains are almost instant. It doesn't seem to matter if its listing posts, reading individual ones or creating one. I just timed a hit on https://forum.grabaperch.com/forum?tags=Question at 30 seconds. But shortly afterwards https://forum.grabaperch.com/forum?tags=Installation,Configuration,Hosting was just 5 seconds. I've tried in Chrome and Safari. Anyone else seeing this or is it just a problem local to me?

Agreed, I am getting the same behaviour.

Yes we know about it - seems to be a Laravel issue. I'm looking into it. You can be sure if it's a pain for you it is 100 x more so for us who spend all day in here :)

Rachel - if you've made some Laravel or hosting changes since the last posting here then I'm happy to report the forum is now flying along at high speed again. ... Graham

No it's intermittent, which is why it is difficult to track down.

I've been digging into the Laravel internals and found some shocking things. And people ask us why Perch doesn't use a framework!

Put some fixes in place, so hopefully it should be much faster now.

Interesting to hear that. One of my subcontractors has been muttering about using Larevel on projects. Todate I've avoided all frameworks.

They're not all bad, but you have to be aware of the compromises.
