Stuck on the Setup Screen

I'm trying to set up perch an have run the Server Compatibility test (Passed all OK) but when I enter all the details on the set up screen and press the NEXT button, the form clears with no error message.

Is this a known bug ?

Have you read the troubleshooting note at the bottom of the Installation documentation:

After submitting the form at Step 3. Nothing happens.

This usually means PHP Sessions are not configured fully on your server. Ask your host if there is anything you need to do to get PHP Sessions working on your server.

https://docs.grabaperch.com/docs/installing-perch/

Thanks, I've asked the server admin to take a look at that.

Cool - let us know if you need further help.

Hi Rachel, I've had the server admin check on the php sessions and they tell me it's a;; as it should be. But my issue with the initial set up screen is still preventing me from setting up.

Is there anything else that could cause this error.

I fill out the info, press next, the form resets with no error message.

Do you have any server side redirects in place?

Hi David Maybe. I'm not sure.

Specifically what should I be looking for?

my client site is https://www.swaninnbridgnorth.com/

I've renamed the perch folder to focus so the setup is here: https://www.swaninnbridgnorth.com/focus/setup/

Cheers Steve

Your server is redirecting /focus/setup/index.php to /focus/setup/ and throwing away the posted data.

Thanks David :)

I've asked the server admin to exclude this.

Regards Steve

I am installing two perch licenses for two sites and am stuck on the first setup screen form. The compatibility tests work fine for both sites. The form does not take me to a success or list of errors page. It just stays there with the input. I have tried uploading my own config file with the correct information and then the error says "Perch cannot connect to the database"

Stacey, please start your own thread if you have an issue. We can't help multiple people in one thread.

My problem was with a .htaccess file redirecting the /index.php to /

Once I removed this it all worded very nicely.

Thanks for the support.

Putting back the redirection after install works fine too.
