Renaming categories ruins perch_shop_products category filtering
I changed some categories on a perch shop, with some categories being changed to sub categories.
This ruined all my category filtering on perch_shop_products since it couldn't find the products anymore, i had to open and save every product in those categories to get them working again with the category filter.
This really shouldn't be happening, either filter on ID, not on slug, or make sure when you edit a category slug attached products are updated.
Happens on Perch 3.0.8 and Perch Shop 1.2.3.
What do you mean when you say it's "ruined"? What behaviour are you observing?
If you change a category path, that's effectively a new category, just as if you moved a page to a new URL.
