Email configuration errors - SMTP error
Just having problem setting up email on a new host.
When I get "SMTP Error: The following recipients failed:XXX@XXXX" is that before or after "SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.", i.e. have I connected by then? Is it likely to be a problem with the host?
If it says it can't connect to host, that will be the primary cause that you need to debug.
What I mean is I'm getting the "The following recipients..." message and want to know if that is farther along than connection?
If the connection can't be made then nothing else is going to work.
I understand that. How are the two SMTP Error messages different?
If it can't connect then it isn't going to be able to send a message. Neither of those messages have anything to do with Perch and mailserver configuration really is outside of the scope of what we can help with. You would be better to speak with your hosting company.
