Google Map after updating to 2.8.31

I’ve updated from Perch 2.8.29 to 2.8.31 on a staging site and the Google Map no longer loads. I’ve read other threads but wanted to check, by updating Perch do I now have to create a Google Maps API key for the map to work again? If so, for using map field type, do I just need the Google Maps Javascript API key? And should I use browser restriction (by HTTP referrer)?

I’ve not created a Google Maps API key before so any help appreciated. Thanks.

It's not updating Perch that affects it - Google has changed the Maps service and it now requires a key. We've updated the maps code in Perch to accommodate that.

You'll need the Maps JavaScript API key and also one of the Static Maps for the image fallback.
