Using Perch for a booking system
I've had a query regarding a possible future job. Essentially a client needs a site where they can sell their service, which is a pop-up cinema, and have people pick a date and pay for the booking through the site via a calendar listing. Is this something that's possibly through Perch? I've been thinking about ways to handle it with Shop and Events but what I'm coming up with feels like it will be a bit of a hack job.
I think you'd need an extra layer in there to manage the availability of the dates and make sure you can't get double-bookings. So Perch and Shop might be a good basis, but they're not the total solution out of the box.
Thanks Drew, my initial thought was to have each 'day' as a product and allow users to 'buy' that day, but that's definitely a hacky approach and is sure to lead to issues very quickly. I suppose I could use another solution for the bookings and use Shop to handle the payments.
