I don't see why not. So if you are encountering an issue it would be helpful if you could explain what you are trying to do.

Whenever I use e.g. @ for the @ symbol

I can see the forum has converted & # x 00040 ; to the @ symbol, so is there something I don't understand because while I select Code Block, this does not work.

What formatting are you using in your template? Markdown? It would help to see the template you are using.
