Can not log in to Members app

Hi

I am updating a large perch 2 site to runway, I have been able to update the blog, events, galleries and all the other pages except the members app

When i use the members app as a perch 2 folder and set the pages to /members/index.php and use the local file as the master page it works fine

When i copy over the members files to /templates/pages/members and set the path to /members, the parent page to top level and the master page to /members/index.php i get the correct login page but when i enter my details it just clears the login page and goes back to /members.

This also happens with register and reset
