There shouldn't be anything you need to change within Perch.

So, we will dump the DB, replace the "http" with "https" (there are some paths we need to change in the content) and reimport it. Then we will make the changes to the .htaccess. Then we are ready to actually "switch" to https and the site will be running.

You'd only need to update links if they're full URLs linking to your own site - something that shouldn't ever really happen. If that has happened, better to fix them properly.
We do not advise you to modify the database directly - that's not a supported action.
