Blog app vs base Perch install.
Does the blog app provide any functionality that can't be replicated with the base Perch package? I like to do things the hard way.

You can do most things with perch_content if you don't mind writing some PHP, however I'd suggest if you were going to replicate Blog you would be better using the Collections feature in Perch Runway due to the way multiple item regions are versions versus Collections.
On regular Perch I'd probably use the Blog App.
