Members App

With the members app, how do I have the system not send a welcome email? I deleted the template content for welcome, new member notification, and password reset. I know for new member it won't send because I do not have the setting turned on in admin and with password reset it won't because I never created an area for them to reset it. The welcome email, however, I am not sure. I couldn't find a setting regarding it.
