Tagging content by keyword

Is there a way to tag regions in perch using keywords? I want to almost give regions some tags so that i can create a search based on those tags

Thanks

You can add a field to your template for this, certainly.

ok, what about tagging pages with keywords?

i can see a page has "description" and "keywords" fields. Do these fields get used in search?

Thanks

No, those are keywords used in meta tags, so whether or not they get used is down to the search engine in question.

is there a way i can tag pages with keywords?

similar to what is in wordpress?

Thanks

You can use that field, or add new ones of your own.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with WordPress.

How do I add a field of my own for a page?

Would that be used in the site search? ( i don't mean a search engine )

thanks

No, it wouldn't be used in the Perch search functionality. That searches content regions, not pages.

This video has a good introduction to page attributes. It's for Perch 2, but the functionality is the same. The interface just looks a bit different. https://docs.grabaperch.com/video/v/page-attributes/
