Add new Page > Master Page > Default setting

Hi

https://forum.grabaperch.com/forum/07-17-2014-add-new-page-master-page-default-setting

I came across this post today which is exactly what I would like to be able to do (ie have Master pages default to the default.php template). Is there any advance on whether this is possible?

Thanks

James
