Set default page attribute template in master page

Hello,

I've asked a very similar question before on this forum so apologies for going over old ground, but wondered if with the new version 3 it was possible to create a master page that used a specific attributes template. Currently all master pages use the 'default.html' template. I wish to create a attributes template specific to certain page types.

It is possible to manually change it afterwards, but I wish for the page to set it automatically to reduce the steps involved for the editors.

Is this possible?

Alternatively is it now possible in v3 to access a regions content from a different page, to set a thumbnail image for a page, then reference that thumbnail image in a menu?
