Search in the Admin seems broken

I've never really had a use for the search facility in the admin, but i thought i;d try it out as i'm working on a site with a lot of pages.

The initial search itself seems to work just fine, it lists all of the pages with the word in it, all good. But then when i click the page so i can go to it, it just returns me to the usual pages view.

Looking at the link in the search result, i can see it is not the same as the URL of where i was expecting to be delivered. For example in search the URL of the link is: https://perch.local/admin/core/apps/content/edit/?id=covers_content.html&itm=Page%20Content

But the actual URL of the area that seems to be referring to is: https://perch.local/admin/core/apps/content/edit/?id=75

The thing is, this behavior is intermittent. Some searches return all results that link to where i would expect and some return all results that results that link to the wrong place.

I can't even say "well it is one particular page" because a search for "cut" returns results that don't link to the right place, yet "barber" does return results that link to the right place, and they both refer to the exact same pages!!
