Changing words/phrases used in the control panel

Hi Perch,

I recall previously changing the text used within the control panel. I changed instances of 'Blog' to read 'News' I cant seem to locate how to do this now. Is it still possible?

I want to update the 'Meta & Social' tab to include 'Section' to help the client know where it is.

Yes, you can do that as a translation - just in the same way you'd change the text to a different language.

For Blog you want to update the perch_blog/lang/en-gb.txt file. The left hand side is the key, the right hand side is the translation.

If you want to change the 'Meta & Social' tab title, you'd need to go to perch/core/lang/en-gb.txt but that might constitute a modification to 'core'.

Thanks Drew. I was able to change the 'Meta data' divider heading from the perch_blog/lang/en-gb.txt file but not the actual tab 'Meta and Social'

Is translation needed for that?

That looks like a bug - I think that string is coming from the main language file rather than the one for Blog.

/perch/addons/lang/en-gb.txt
