Slow Emails For Password Reset, New Members, Etc.
Is it just my site, or do the emails for password resets (Members app) and other emails from the system come slow? I did a password reset (using the normal SMTP settings) and it took a solid 5-6 minutes for the email to arrive in a Gmail box.
Could this be the CMS? Or is the SMTP to blame? Or security? Gmail usually grabs emails pretty quickly, so I'm wondering what else could cause the delay....
Perch will send the email instantly. Once it's sent, there's nothing we can do about slow routing and delivery.
The best bet would be to use a different SMTP server, but even that might not help.
Ok thanks. I thought so and that's what I told my client. My workaround is just a message that says "wait 5 minutes or email us".

Ultimately email wasn't ever designed to be instant - as frustrating as that can be!
