Direction help
I'm after a pointer to help me which direction I need to take. I've been reading up on filetypes and building an app, but I'm not sure which to look into deeper.
I need to achieve;
Perch Runway with members, which when a user registers they choose from a list of categories as interests. Then these interests display relevant youtube videos on their member page.
I've created the categories and plan to create collections for the youtube videos with the interests categories.
Do I need to look into building an app to add the category info to the member? Or a filetype? Or something else?
If you could let me know which direction I should take, I'll learn through the docs.

You could potentially use member tags to do that, but I think I'd do it with a simple app.
