Question about UI Customizations

I love that fact that we are given the ability to adjust styles in the perch dashboard. However, I'm failing to see where I can locate the element class names besides digging into the source code through the browser. Is this the only way? AND, is it possible to access the raw HTML foundation of the dashboard if we were wanting to include more?
