Disable blog comments for Admin role

I've noticed this on a couple of projects recently. It's possible to prevent the comment area appearing on a blog post if the Editor role has "Enable comments on a post" unticked. But if I try to do the same for the Admin role, the setting isn't retained. It appears to save the setting, but if I move out of that screen and return to it, that setting is now ticked.

Is there any way to remove comments from blog posts for the Admin role?

I've not seen that, but I'll take a look into it.
