Best way to change to a different region without risking losing content

I've a quite important page with a region with multiple entries (114 to be precise). I've been asked to change the whole way the page works which i've done using different region content. I could create a fresh page and redo the entries but would take a while.

I'd like to use the existing page somehow and all the data that's in it, I think changing the region template could work but i can't risk doing this and losing the text and images. Can I set up a new page separately and have all the regions and content duplicated in here?
