Setting up multi-user Environment

Hi, A Developer colleague and I are about to build a site for a client using perch, Perch shop and the members add-on; and I am wondering if the set up below is plausible with the one Perch license that I have set aside for this, ..or do we require two, or is this not possible?

We plan to both work from our homes on our local machines and then both update the same Dev server which will be online. After completion we then plan to go live on a separate server so we can build future updates on the DEV server.

We are also looking in to setting up GIT and Bitbucket so we have some version control (both learning that at the same time!)

Any suggestions on better working environments for 2 remote devs are most welcome!
