Members App - Delete Tags

Hello there,

We are using the Members app and have noticed that after adding a tag to a member in the admin and then deselecting and saving it, the tag is no longer associated in the database with the member, but it's kept in the tag table.

So when clicking on the filter "By Tag" drop down, you see all the unused tags still showing up there.

Is there a workaround for this or way to depopulate the tag table without having to modify the database record?

There isn't - it's designed to work that way. What's the scenario where it's useful to remove tags?

Ok, good to know.

The scenario we are in is the client is associating a variety of tags with individual members and then when they disassociate them from a member, they still have them in the filtering list, but it isn't needed anymore. Also, if a tag is mis-spelled or a duplicate of another tag (with either spelling or spacing differences), it clutters the drop down with extraneous tags.

Does that make sense?

Thanks, we'll keep that in mind.

+1 for cleaning up the tags as misspelled and unused tags tend to add up over time and clog the filtering menu for no reason
