Overwrite Assets

I have a site where clients upload PDF documents regularly and links directly to the PDF are given out. An issue comes in when a document file is edited and then re-uploaded. If it has the same file name, Perch automatically appends a '1' afterwards. Thus, the links do not direct to the updated document.

Is there any way to overwrite assets instead of uploading a separate file? This would avoid having to use new links every time a document is amended.
