Multiple Items get duplicated when more users edit the same region

Hi there!

We have a multiple items region that contains roughly 250 items. The problem is that all the items get duplicated when multiple users (editors) edit the region. It already happened twice and it's especially unpleasant since we have to delete all the duplicates or upload the backup of the database everytime. But obviously this isn't a solution since we need our clients to be able to edit the website without us monitoring it. Is there anything that can be done about it? Has anybody experienced this before?
