So the answer to my question all along was - "No, it is not possible to upload multiple assets to a specific bucket in the "Listing assets page" in version 3.0.10"
On the contrary, there are NO conditions where the facility to add multiple assets to a selected bucket does work via the assets panel. The original poster of this thread is correct and it appears nothing has changed since I posted regarding the same issue in this thread https://forum.grabaperch.com/forum/04-03-2017-a-perch-3-add-multiple-assets - and my observations in that thread were verified by several others.

It does sound like there's a condition where it doesn't work, but without investigating what that might be, I can't say.
