blog lang file editing

I am editing the .txt file in /perch/addons/apps/perch_blog/lang in french. Should i move this file somewhere in order not to loose the editing when upgrading the blog app in the future ?

You shouldn't edit the English language file, instead create an fr file then select that file in admin. It's just the same as with the language files for core.
