Installation Problems

I'm having problems setting up the database on my live server. My hosting provider has confirmed database username.

The Server Compatability test returns - Unable to Create Database tables.

I've used Perch on plenty of other sites on the same server, so I know Perch works.

I can log into phpMyAdmin intermittently. If it fails, I have to reset the password (using the same one) on my server, then I can log into phpMyAdmin again.

I have not tested the CMS on MAMP, I'm trying to do it directly onto the live site as I'm using a contact form that I'm copying from another site.

Any steer would be great.

If you can only access phpMyAdmin intermittently, that rings alarm bells. You should talk to your host about that. Perch will have the same issue.

You should speak to your host and find out why you cannot pass the compatibility test. We can't help in getting you to that point - the test is to demonstrate that you can install Perch.
