Development help needed

Im looking for help with a project

I'm developing a website and need favourite feature

The website will have a Google map with a list of locations Next the each location there will be a star If a user clicks the start it will add that location to their favourite list

Each user will have a login and the fav list needs to be stored in the db not via cookies

Can anybody help
