Members shortlist of items

I have a list of products, and when a member is logged in, I want them to be able to click on a button 'shortlist' for each, and it creates their own unique shortlist of items, which is saved permanently until they remove them.

This is nothing to do with shopping, it's just a shortlist of things they're interested in. How would I go about this?

It might be easiest to use member tags. Add a tag to the member when liking item. Otherwise you will need to add this to the members profile using a form to update member profile in the same way a member would edit their member profile.
