I asked this question in the Q&A at the Perch Summit, Drew you asked if I could post it in the forum:
As the assets only backup 10 at a time, is it ok to initially copy the resources folder manually into the backup (dropbox) folder?
Yes - thanks. We keep a list of resources that have been backed up. So moving the file there manually won't help.
It does it 5 at a time, and runs each time the scheduled tasks run. You're potentially capable of backing up 300 files an hour - so I don't think there's much to be gained by trying to prime it manually. Even if your site had 7000 resource files, it'd only take a day to catch up.
