With the Members add-on is it possible to add custom 'data' to a member via the back-end/control panel or does this have to be carried out in the client facing/front-end templates?

Yes, it should be possible to add fields to the
members/member.htmlmaster template. You'll then be able to edit those in the usual way within the control panel.Great, thanks Drew
