Date within post URL

Hi,

I just wondered what the thought's are on removing the date from my blog post URL's.

A, will this have an negative effect on SEO, or any other effects, i.e achieve?

B, I have tried to test this by removing the date from the Post Slug setup in settings, but i'm guessing my custom route within Runway is still causing my pages not to route after the change. Should I edit/remove my route?
