Deleted Assets are Accessible Online
I attempted to delete a PDF asset from the CMS. It disappears from the backend, but the file is still available from a direct link.
Is there something else I need to do to delete an asset from the resource folder via the backend portal?
The file will be removed once it drops out of the undo history.
What is the typical timeframe for dropping out of the undo history?
It's based on the number of revisions, not on time. I think the default is 8 revisions.
I'm confused. If I delete a file, it won't actually delete until I make 8 different changes using the CMS?
Yes, that's right. Otherwise what would you expect to happen when you click Undo?
It would be great if you could add a checkbox to permanently delete an asset that would disable the undo feature because now there really isn't a way to delete a file without manually removing it from the resource fold.
