Categories and / or Collections in Runway?
Perch Runway has Collections and Categories.
But as far as I see it, I can also create "custom" categories via collections, without using the categories app. Example: Collection 1: Bikes, Collection 2: Bike-Types (that's the category set)
Should I do that, or is it better to use native categories? What are the advantages? Example: Collection 1: Bikes, Category Set 1: Bike-Types
From perch_blog, I know the nice backend filter by category. Can I get that too with collections, and if so, how?
It's entirely up to you - use the tools however you see fit.
My question is how they differ: does the categories app have additional features over "custom" categories by way of collections?
Categories have counts, nesting, simple positive and negative filtering outside of the other filters.
