Blog Comments Skipping Pending Approval

Hi, I'm currently using the Blog App with comments, and the comments that are submitted are directly posted to the blog without going through the pending request. I have altered the template, but I cannot see how comments are circumnavigating approval. What could be causing this? Or what could I have altered that's causing this?
