Asset filters not working when using "Select or upload an image"

Whenever you click "Select or upload an image" in a template it brings up the Select an Asset flyout window as usual. If you start trying to filter images or files it stops working and just shows the spinner indefinitely. Occasionally it will work when clicking different filters but most of the time it just shows the spinner. After trying to click on other things a few times the filter bar eventually bugs out and disappears completely leaving nothing but the spinner.

Note that this is only when using the select or upload an image button in a template, filtering in the assets app seems to be working just fine.

Note: I have adblock running in the video above. I tested with it disabled and still had the issue. Just adding this in case it was relevant.
