Using Perch Shop for paid Memberships

Firstly, congratulations on releasing Shop 1.0, it's a huge addition to the Perch stable.

One of the primary uses for Shop for me across different projects that I take care of is for controlling paid memberships - this is society memberships, friends schemes for a couple of theatre companies, etc.

At present the standard way is to take payments via paypal, the admin person gets the payment notification and then either approves the membership (adding an expiring tag) for new members or updates tags for renewals.

Everyone's experience would vastly improved by being able to use Payment Successful to auto-update these - saved admin time and instant access for the members.

Is it possible to do both these actions with Shop and Members apps as they stand?

If so, would it be possible to do an example as another way of using the apps together?

Many thanks

Yes, the Nest Demo includes this functionality. You add a tag to the product with an expiry (e.g. 12 months). When a member buys the product, they get that tag with the expiry.

Super duper, as they say.

This sounds awesome! One question though - is it possible to sign the member up with a password they create, rather than the passwordless registration? If not should we just include the password reset link in the welcome email?

If we need to include the reset password link how can we do that?

Thanks
