Podcasts App: Is tracking episodes possible on files hosted remotely?

Hello! My client has their podcast files hosted on Libsyn. If I use anything other than the remote file URL at Libsyn in the Tracked URL field, the audio player can't find the source. Am I right in assuming that I can only track (within Perch, at least) podcast episodes that are hosted locally?

You can only track plays if you use the tracking URL. It doesn't matter where it's hosted.

Our own site has them hosted on Amazon S3.

I think I understand. So, I use .htaccess to reroute my tracking URL to the remote resource?

Another wrinkle: The Libsyn episode id doesn't map nicely to episodeNumber, an example id is: "S6Ep6PP18Mar15". :( I like that Perch autonumbered the imported podcasts 1-51, but it sounds like I may need to use that weird Libsyn value (managed as a new field in the admin?) in place of episodeNumber, instead, in order for my tracking URLs to work.

Ah, I think I got it. :) Thanks! I hadn't quite wrapped my head around what my tracking URL needed to be, but have it sorted, now.
