Default eventDateTime format

I understand that the Events app is dated at this point so not all functionality is available... but is there a way to change the way the date/time selection appears in the Perch admin? I'd like to change the time input from 24 hour format to 12 hour format.

I tried changing the 'format=' in the event.html with no luck.
