A/B Testing in Perch

I've seen this thread https://forum.grabaperch.com/forum/07-03-2014-ab-testing and wanted to follow-up recent Twitter conversation re A/B Testing.

I want to test different variations on my site (and I think clients would want to do this too). For example, change a strapline and assess how many people click through and submit a contact form. Or, change a website layout, and test the same conversion goal.

I can create the different test variations in Perch as fields or templates and switch these manually. That's a bit clunky though.

I've used Google Analytics Experiments and this requires creation of different pages for each test.

I'm still thinking this through how Perch could help with this (as you can probably tell).

What sort of outputs would you be looking for?

For my site, I'm thinking about text outputs mainly. Is that what you mean?

Although, I have one page where I want to test pricing tables so that would be changing blocks/templates.

I mean say you've been running your tests for a couple of weeks... then what? What tools do you need to evaluate the result of the test?

Optimizely https://www.optimizely.com/ is one that I want to try. They appear to have integrations with different platforms, WordPress for example.

So you're thinking more of an integration than a feature Perch implements?

Still thinking on different approaches....

I would probably prefer if it was all in Perch tbh. If it was all in Perch, tools for measuring results would be counting destination URL clicks and/or goals like contact form submission. And a way of assessing these statistically.
