What happens when you try to backup? You would need to give us some more information if you would like us to help.

It appears a red STOP signal with "MySQL Database" on Perch's app page

Server support: "Looks like mysqldump is fine to run on php, so if you are having issues most likely it is related to the credentials you are using or the back up script's coding."

Have you set the path to mysqldump on the settings page?

I don't know what path to write on settings page, and Dreamhost support is telling me:

I don't believe we have a "path"
That's the only way to access the MySQL databases
You don't have shell access to to in our servers
They are stored in separate servers as web files
Only way to run the mysqldump command is using the information I provided`
Otherwise you'd need a dedicated server where the mysql files are stored in the same server as web files

Ok - what information did they provide? I don't think people generally have problems with Dreamhost.

They talk me about shell users and commands, but what I was asking for was for that php path... what should I try?

What value do you have set for the path? At a minimum it should be mysqldump

mysqldump path worked..! — Thanks Drew for this sunday support
