Is it just me, or is the search function on this forum all but useless?
This has bugged me for (literally) years now. Nothing against Perch, I love you guys, but your forum search simply doesn't work. For example, the following is a recent forum post and my attempts at searching for it:
User Role Permissions Page Details / Page Options
Positive Results
User Role Permissions
Page Details / Page Options
Negative Results
user permissions
Users and Roles (this is straight from the documentation)
Roles and Permissions (another section in the documentation)
page details, page options
user role page options
permissions user
I think you see where I'm going with this. I'm not very knowledgeable in search engine functionality, but it appears that it only looks for the string and not the individual words / substrings within it. I can't be the only one that finds this very frustrating!
Unfortunately as a team of two we'd struggle to justify stopping working on the product and answering support queries to spend time building custom forum software. So we battle on.
Hi Steve, I find that doing a Google Advanced Search gives quite good results. Typing your search terms in Google followed by: site:https://forum.grabaperch.com/forum e.g:
User Role Permissions Page Details / Page Options site:https://forum.grabaperch.com/forum
